The Warming Trends CROSSFIRE CFBDT is a double tree-style brass burner kit for building or converting a rectangular gas fire pit. Each kit pairs a 100% brass CROSSFIRE burner, whose jets mix gas and air for tall, bright flames, with a flex line kit, a key valve kit and match lit operation. Choose from 5 sizes from 160,000 to 480,000 BTU, natural gas or propane, and add a burner plate sized to the burner if you do not already have one.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: CROSSFIRE CFBDT brass burner, flex line kit (two flex lines on larger sizes), key valve kit with chrome decorative flange and two keys, match lit setup
- Optional (select above): burner plate sized to the burner
- Required: a non-combustible, vented enclosure, a gas shutoff outside the fire feature, a licensed gas installer and fire-rated media
- Optional, sold separately: lava rock or fire glass
Installation Notes
Build a non-combustible enclosure with at least two vents of 18 sq in. each on opposing sides, placed mid to low; do not fill the cavity with gravel, rock or concrete; support the plate on blocks, bricks or L-brackets rather than on the gas valve; and recess the burner 4 to 6 in. below the top to protect the flame from wind, per Warming Trends instruction manual V3.1. Keep 36 in. horizontal and 120 in. overhead clearance to combustibles and fit a gas shutoff outside the fire feature. A licensed gas professional should make the connection and leak test. Certification: no CFBDT Double Tree size appears on the Warming Trends certified burner list in the Version 6 manual (6/26) or in ICC-ES listing PMG-1213 (effective March 2026), with match lit or electronic ignition. The certified CROSSFIRE tree-style burners are the single-row CFBT110 to CFBT470 sizes, listed match lit and with Warming Trends push button spark (PBIK), 3V battery (3VIK), 24V electronic (24VIK and P24VIK), Mercury and Platinum ignition systems. Because it is not a certified configuration, installation requires approval from your local code official (the authority having jurisdiction) before you buy and install it. In New York City, fixed gas piping requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and rules for open flame and propane on terraces and rooftops vary by building, so confirm what is allowed before you order. Frequently Asked Questions
Which size do I need?
Match the plate size to the inside dimensions of your fire pit, then check that your gas supply can deliver the burner's BTU rating; the Warming Trends burner size guide lists each match.
Do I need the plate option?
Only if your fire pit does not already have a plate or pan. Choose I already have a Plate to buy the burner kit alone.
Natural gas or propane?
Each burner is built for one fuel. Order the version that matches your supply; propane needs 11 to 13 in. W.C. and natural gas 3.5 to 7 in. W.C. for match lit use.
What media can I use?
Fire-rated media made for fire features, 1/2 in. or larger, placed on the plate rather than dumped over the burner and no more than 1/2 in. above the jets. Never use gravel, pebbles or river rock.

Warming Trends full lifetime warranty on CROSSFIRE brass burners from the date of purchase, transferable with proof of ownership (Warming Trends warranty and manual V3.1). Repair or exchange is free during the warranty period; misuse, installation defects, modification and indoor use are excluded, and installation services and electronics are not covered by the burner warranty.
