Installation Notes
For a built-in, frame a 23 in. W x 18-3/4 in. H x 10 in. D finished opening and keep 11.8 in. from the glass to a mantel. For an insert, clear the existing fireplace, add an outlet inside it, then slide the unit in. Never use an extension cord. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes them one of the simplest fireplace options for New York City apartments and co-ops, subject to building and board approval for any electrical work.
