The Modern Flames Redstone 36 (RS-3626) is a traditional-look electric firebox that either slides into an existing fireplace or builds flush into a new framed wall. It brings a log fire picture and real supplemental heat to a fireplace you no longer burn, or to a wall that never had one.
Ten flame colors and ten ember bed colors, a flame brightness control and four flame speeds are run from the touch panel or the included remote. Driftwood logs and glacier crystals come in the box, along with a second, thicker trim.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: RS-3626 fireplace, remote, driftwood logs, glacier crystals, 1-5/8 in. trim kit, screw covers and hardware, per the owner's manual
- Required: a dedicated 120V 15 A circuit; for an insert, an outlet inside the existing fireplace wired by an electrician
- Optional: Modern Flames 36 in. extra-wide trim surround
Installation Notes
For a built-in, frame a 32-5/8 x 23-7/8 x 10 in. D finished opening and keep 11.8 in. from the glass to a mantel. For an insert, clear the existing fireplace, add an outlet inside it, then slide the unit in; it is held by gravity and friction. Never use an extension cord. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes them one of the simplest fireplace options for New York City apartments and co-ops, subject to building and board approval for any electrical work. Book a design consultation to plan an insert or a new built-in wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it go in my existing fireplace?
Yes. The Redstone is designed to slide into an existing fireplace with an outlet installed inside, or to build into a new wall.
How much heat does it give?
Up to 1,465 W, about 5,000 BTU; the heater runs only with the flame on.
Which trim should I use?
It ships with a 5/8 in. trim and a 1-5/8 in. trim; Modern Flames also sells extra-wide trim kits to cover a larger opening.

Warranty
Modern Flames limited warranty (2022-2023 policy), which covers all Modern Flames brand products bought from authorized dealers: 5 years from the date of purchase when the owner registers the product at modernflames.com, otherwise the standard 2 years; integrated screens 1 year. The warranty is not transferable, consumable and normal wear parts are excluded, and Modern Flames must be contacted first to troubleshoot before service.
