The American Fyre Designs Marseille 48 Inch Gas Fire Bowl (series 751) is a wide, shallow sculpted glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) dish that sits only 10-1/2 inches high, framing a full circle of flame from a 16 inch star burner. The low profile suits pool decks, pedestals and fire and water designs, and the water spout version, per the listing, pairs flame with a spout. Choose manual flame sensing for 65,000 BTU or FyreStarter for push button and Bluetooth control with up to 100,000 BTU.

  • Included: Marseille 48 inch fire bowl in your finish, stainless steel burner and valve system and a base bag of lava granules
  • Natural gas: a dedicated gas line with shutoff sized for the unit (up to 100,000 BTU on FyreStarter), installed by a licensed plumber
  • Propane: the tank cannot go inside this unit; use a remote 20 lb cylinder in an enclosure such as the Reclaimed Wood Contempo Tank/End Table with the AFD 5110-26 10 ft extension hose
  • FyreStarter models: a 120V GFCI protected weatherproof outlet nearby
  • Decorative media: AFD recommends about 110 lbs of glass or gems or 50 lbs of lava over the base layer: Fyre Glass, Reflective Fyre Glass, Fyre Gems or Diamond Nuggets
  • Optional: vinyl protective cover (8143A)

Installation Notes

Outdoor use only. Set the unit on a hard, level surface with the clearances above and never under overhead construction. The 100,000 BTU FyreStarter version needs a larger gas supply than most fire bowls, so have your plumber size the line for the full load before the patio is finished. Natural gas piping must be installed by a qualified installer; in New York City that means a licensed master plumber under permit, and roof or terrace locations may need building approval. Propane storage and use are regulated in the five boroughs, so confirm your building's rules. Units ship by LTL freight and are made to order. Talk to us about your patio plan.

Manual flame sensing or FyreStarter?

Manual is simpler and needs no outlet, at a steady 65,000 BTU. FyreStarter adds push button and phone control, a 100,000 BTU high and a 54,000 BTU low, but needs a 120V GFCI outlet nearby.

Can it be used with a water feature?

The current listing offers a water spout configuration, available with the manual valve only. Confirm the layout with us before ordering.

How much media does it take?

AFD recommends about 110 lbs of glass or gems, or 50 lbs of lava, over the included base layer.

Can I run it on propane?

Warranty

American Fyre Designs warrants the GFRC construction for three years and the burners, valves and electronic components for one year from the date of purchase, for the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Labor is not covered, nor is damage from burning wood or any fuel other than natural gas or propane.
