Stove Bright High Temperature Paint, made by Forrest Technical Coatings, is the aerosol finish many stove makers use as their factory coating, so it touches up or repaints wood, pellet and gas stoves, inserts and vent pipe with a matching color. It resists peak temperatures of 1200 F (650 C), needs no primer on indoor appliances and dries to the touch in about 20 minutes. Choose a color and a single 12 oz can or a case of 12 above.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

- Needed: rust removal and degreasing supplies, such as 180 grit sandpaper and lacquer thinner or acetone (user guide)
- Needed: eye protection, gloves and good ventilation
Installation Notes
Per the Stove Bright user guide: remove all rust, scuff and degrease the surface, shake the can for 2 minutes, then spray two or three light coats from 12 to 15 in. Wait 4 hours, then set the paint with a short low fire, an hour at medium and an hour at high, ventilating the room; children and anyone with breathing problems should leave during the hot burn. On grills, the paint is not food rated and may fade in sun, and the inside of a grill must never be painted. Fumes are flammable, so in a New York City apartment work only with every flame and pilot off and windows open.
