The Osburn Matrix 1900 is a compact EPA certified wood insert with a cast iron faceplate, a large ceramic glass door and an included blower. Its tapered top and sides are designed to fit smaller masonry hearths, and the deep bottom of the combustion chamber lets ash accumulate between cleanings. It suits homeowners who want real wood heat for roughly 250 to 1,200 square feet from an existing fireplace.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

- Required: a continuous stainless steel liner to the chimney top, minimum liner height 12 feet. A 6" liner and venting kit with adapter and termination cap can be selected in the Venting option.
- Required: floor protection and hearth as shown in the owner's manual
- Required: dry, seasoned cordwood
Installation Notes
This insert is for installation in an existing masonry fireplace and must be connected to a full-length liner. It is not approved for mobile homes. Clearances to combustibles, floor protection and mantel limits are in section 2 of the owner's manual and must be followed exactly. Use a qualified, certified installer. Frequently Asked Questions
How much space will it heat?
Osburn recommends 250 to 1,200 square feet. Actual results depend on your home layout, chimney draft, climate and fuel.
Will it fit a small fireplace?
The minimum masonry opening is 25" wide, 19" high and 15-1/2" deep, and the tapered top and sides are designed for smaller hearths. Measure your opening against these numbers before ordering.
Do I need a liner?
Yes. The manual calls for an approved chimney liner with a minimum liner height of 12 feet and a 6" flue outlet.
What fuel can I burn?
Dry cordwood only. The unit is certified for cordwood, so do not burn other materials.
