The Summerset Quest QST42 is a 42 inch built-in gas grill made in the USA from 304 stainless steel, with four U-tube burners, a rear infrared rotisserie burner and 785 square inches of main grilling area. It comes with a grill cover, smoker box, rib rack, drop-in griddle plate and rotisserie kit, so it suits an outdoor kitchen where the grill is the centerpiece and the accessories are not an extra shopping list.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included per the Summerset manual: four cooking grates, four burner covers, three warming racks, drip tray, rib rack, drop-in griddle plate, rotisserie kit, smoker box, main and rear burners, a grill head cover and orifices for the factory fuel setting.
- Needed: a gas line sized for the grill (natural gas 4.0" to 7.0" w.c. inlet, propane 10.0" to 14.0" w.c.), a grounded outlet for the lighting transformer, and a vented island enclosure.
- Optional: Summerset lists a stainless steel insulated grill liner for the 42 inch Quest (GL-QST42) for installs in combustible enclosures. We can quote it on request.
Installation Notes
Built-in grills must be installed by a qualified gas fitter in a non-combustible island with the cutout and ventilation the manual lists. Add 1/4 inch to the inner dimension of your build-out so the grill fits. In New York City, gas piping requires a licensed master plumber and a permit. Book a consultation and we will review the island plan and gas supply with you.

How much total BTU does the Quest 42 produce?
The four main burners total 72,000 BTU/h, and the manual lists the rear burner at 13,000 BTU/h.
What size cutout does it need?
The line drawing and listing give a cutout of 40-1/4 inches wide by 19-1/2 inches deep by 9-7/8 inches high. Summerset recommends adding 1/4 inch to the inner dimension of the build-out.
Do I need a vent hood?
Under overhead construction, the manual requires an exhaust hood of at least 1,000 CFM with non-combustible materials, and at least 5 ft between the countertop and overhead construction.
What accessories come with it?
The manual lists a grill head cover, smoker box, rib rack, drop-in griddle plate and rotisserie kit along with three warming racks and the drip tray.
