The Napoleon Ascent X 36 (BX36) is a clean-faced direct vent gas fireplace with a full-width firebox, hand-painted split oak logs and up to 26,000 BTU/h on natural gas. Napoleon includes the blower, remote, NIGHT LIGHT ember glow and a premium black safety barrier, so it suits a family room or bedroom where you want a traditional log fire with modern controls and the option to mount a TV above with the right heat management. Choose decorative panels and a front to finish the look.

Installation Notes

A licensed gas technician installs the BX36 with Napoleon direct vent components inside the 20 ft horizontal / 40 ft vertical limits and the framing and mantel clearances in installation manual W415-2944. In New York City, gas work requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and direct vent units are a common NYC-compliant choice. Is the blower included?

Yes. Napoleon lists the internal heat-circulating blower, remote, NIGHT LIGHT and premium safety barrier as standard on the Ascent X 36.

What vent kit do I need?

A Napoleon 4 in./7 in. direct vent kit for either a wall (horizontal) or roof (vertical) termination; horizontal runs up to 20 ft and vertical up to 40 ft.

Can I put a TV above it?

Napoleon designs the Ascent X for TV walls with the right mantel clearances and optional heat management. We review your wall plan before installation.

Is it available in propane?

Yes. BX36PTRE is the propane model, rated 25,000 BTU/h.

Warranty

Napoleon President's Limited Lifetime Warranty: the combustion chamber, heat exchanger, burner, logs and embers, ceramic glass (thermal breakage) and enameled and plated parts are covered for as long as you own the appliance; Napoleon repairs or replaces covered parts free for the first 10 years and supplies them at 50% of retail after that. Electrical components and wearable parts (blowers, valves, switches, remotes, ignitors, gaskets, pilots) are covered for 1 year, and warranty labor for the first year. Installation by a licensed, qualified installer is required.
