- We allow returns on all new, unused, unassembled, and "resalable" items in their original packaging within 30 days of the delivery date for a refund (minus the original shipping costs, and the shipping costs you incur shipping the product back). Napoleon Ascent™ X 42 Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
The Ascent™ X 42 takes Napoleon's best-selling firebox and adds a wider, cleaner-faced viewing area, the NIGHT LIGHT™ glow that keeps the fireplace looking alive with the burner off, and a remote as standard. Sealed direct-vent combustion means it installs almost anywhere in a NYC apartment, Long Island home or New Jersey build.

Choosing Your Configuration
Ignition & Fuel Type above is required — it determines the factory unit you receive. Millivolt uses a standing pilot and runs without electricity; Electronic uses an intermittent pilot for higher efficiency. Interior Panels and Decorative Front are optional — the firebox ships with a painted black interior and the standard safety barrier.
A direct vent kit is required to complete this installation and is sold separately — the correct kit depends on whether you terminate through a wall or the roof. Surrounds, finishing trim, media kits and heat-management accessories are optional.

Documentation
Field conversion between fuels is possible with a Napoleon conversion kit (W175-0398 / W175-0397 electronic), sold separately.

Backed by Napoleon's President's Limited Lifetime Warranty, covering the combustion chamber and heat exchanger for life against defects in workmanship and materials. Installation by a licensed gas technician is required to maintain coverage.
