The Fire Magic Cold Storage Double Drawer Refrigerator (24-REF-DD) is a 24 in built-in outdoor refrigerator with two slide-out stainless steel drawers instead of a swinging door. It holds 5.3 cu ft at 34 to 50 F, each drawer carries up to 50 lb, and the drawer format means there is no door swing into a narrow walkway. It is designed to sit under the counter of a Fire Magic outdoor kitchen for drinks, produce, marinades and meat before grilling.

  • Required: a dedicated 120 VAC, 15 A minimum GFCI grounded 3-wire receptacle with a weatherproof in-use cover inside the island; no extension cords or power strips
  • Required: an enclosure built to the cutout and ventilation clearances above; the unit must stay removable for service

Installation Notes

Frame the island opening at 35 1/2 in high by 25 in wide by 26 in deep, allow 27 1/2 in side to side, and leave 3 in behind and 2 in at each side for air. Plan at least 14 in between this unit and the grill or side burner before the island is framed, and allow 38 1/2 in in front for the drawers to open. Fire Magic's web page has listed a 26 in by 27 1/2 in cutout; the manual C2-821 and sales sheet give 25 in by 26 in, which we follow. When the daily low reaches 30 F, winterize the unit per the manual. Have a licensed electrician add the GFCI circuit to local code. How cold does it get?

The set range is 34 to 50 F (1 to 10 C), shown on the LED display.

Can it go next to the grill?

Keep it at least 14 in from any heat source, such as a grill or side burner.

What do I do in winter?

Winterize it when daily lows reach 30 F, following the storage steps in the manual. Running it below freezing without winterizing voids the warranty.

Fire Magic (R.H. Peterson Co.) warrants its electric accessories, including this refrigerator, for one year from the date of purchase for the original purchaser, for single family residential use in the United States or Canada with proof of purchase. Labor is not covered, and failure to winterize below freezing voids the warranty. Claims go through your authorized Fire Magic dealer.
