Two slide-out stainless steel drawers instead of a swinging door, which is what you want directly under a working counter: nothing blocks the walkway and the cold stays put when a drawer is opened briefly. 5.3 cu ft holds a full day of prep at 34 to 50 F, and each drawer carries up to 50 lbs, so cases of drinks and sealed proteins both travel well.

This is a built-in unit for a 24 in outdoor kitchen bay, with drawer dividers to stop contents sliding, white LED interior lighting and a touch control board that reads out the actual temperature. The drawer format also means it fits beneath a run of counter without the door-swing clearance a glass-door cooler needs.

Required to Complete the Installation

A dedicated 120 VAC 15 A GFCI grounded 3-wire receptacle is required inside the island and is not supplied. Allow a minimum rough opening of 35 1/2 in high by 25 in wide by 26 in deep, with 27 1/2 in of side-to-side clearance, 3 in of ventilation behind the cabinet and 2 in on each side. Keep the cabinet at least 14 in from any heat source, which in practice means planning the gap between this unit and the grill or side burner before the island is framed.

Allow 38 1/2 in of total depth for the drawers to open fully. Because this is a drawer unit there is no door swing to plan for, so it suits a position opposite a narrow walkway better than a glass-door cooler does.

Optional Accessories and Matching Units

The companion unit in the same 2027 Fire Magic refrigeration line is the Dual Zone Wine and Beverage Cooler (24-WREF-GDR / 24-WREF-GDL), which offers two independently controlled zones behind a locking glass door and is available in right or left hinge. The two cabinets share the same rough opening, so they can be specified side by side in a bar run.

Note on dimensions: the manufacturer's web page currently lists the cut-out as 26 in wide by 27 1/2 in deep. The installation manual C2-821, the Fire Magic sales sheet and the current Fire Magic price list all give 25 in front wall width and 26 in minimum depth, with 27 1/2 in of side-to-side clearance. The figures published above follow those three documents.

Fire Magic electric accessories, which includes this refrigeration unit, are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase. The warranty applies to the original purchaser for products installed in the United States or Canada and operated and maintained as intended for single family residential use.
