The Bromic Tungsten 500 Smart-Heat gas heater is a 43,000 BTU infrared heater for restaurant patios, covered terraces and large residential outdoor rooms. Bromic rates it for about 215 sq ft. The Smart-Heat electronic control lets one switch run one heater or several, with automatic re-ignition and flame-failure shut-off, and the pivoting bracket aims the heat where you need it. It mounts on a wall or ceiling and comes in natural gas (BH0210003-1) or propane (BH0210004-1).

Installation Notes
This heater is for outdoor use only and is not approved for indoor residential locations. Bromic allows it in open air or in a partial enclosure with an overhead cover where at least 25% of the total wall area is completely open and at least 30% of the remaining wall area is open and unrestricted, and it must be protected from rain. Installation must be done by an authorized person to local codes or the National Fuel Gas Code, and the heater must be electrically grounded. In New York City, a fixed gas line requires a licensed master plumber and a DOB permit, and FDNY restricts propane cylinder storage and use, so most city installs run on natural gas.
