Description
Description
Fits: Superior WRT8048 wood-burning masonry box fireplace installed over a combustible floor (Superior WRT8048 manual)
The Superior HS48 Combustible Floor Hearth Spacer (catalog F0971) is the factory spacer the WRT8048 wood-burning fireplace must sit on whenever it is installed anywhere other than a concrete slab. It holds the firebox at the tested height and air gap above a combustible floor, so the installation stays within the fireplace's listing.
Set it at rough-in, before the hearth extension and finished hearth go down; skipping it is a code and warranty problem that is expensive to fix after the fact.
Features
- Required for WRT8048 installations on any floor other than a concrete slab
- Superior factory part, catalog F0971, model HS48
- Keeps the fireplace within its tested and listed configuration
- Installed at rough-in, under the firebox
- 48 in. size to match the WRT8048

Installation Notes
Place the HS48 under the WRT8048 during framing and follow the hearth spacer, hearth extension and clearance figures in the WRT8048 installation manual. New York City does not permit new wood-burning fireplaces or stoves under Local Law 38 of 2015, so we sell this model for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows them. Book a design consultation to plan the fireplace, hearth and chimney.
