The Warming Trends ALPAN48C is a 48 in. round aluminum burner pan that carries a CROSSFIRE burner and its media inside a masonry or concrete fire feature. Its welded 2 in. sidewalls form a shallow tray that holds lava rock or fire glass and helps protect electronic ignition components, while drainage vents let rain water escape. It is the right base when you are building a custom fire pit or fire table around a Warming Trends burner.

Installation Notes

Support the burner pan on blocks, bricks or metal L-brackets; never let the burner system rest on a control box. Warming Trends recommends a center support for round or square plates and pans over 30 in., recessing the burner assembly 4 to 6 in. below the top of the enclosure for wind protection, and keeping the capstone inner ledge off the outer lip of the burner pan so the system stays serviceable. The enclosure must be non-combustible, level, never filled with gravel or concrete, and vented with 18 sq in. on two opposing sides; mount the key valve below the burner pan through the side wall or remotely. A licensed gas professional should make the connection and leak test.

In New York City, outdoor gas fire features and their gas piping fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings permitting, and propane at residences is restricted by the NYC Fire Code, so confirm the approval path before you build.

Pan or plate: which do I need?

A pan has 2 in. welded sidewalls that contain media and help protect electronic ignition. A flat plate suits match lit or push button systems where the opening itself contains the media.

Which burners fit a 48 in. burner pan?

Warming Trends matches burner size to the plate or pan through its burner size guide. Tell us the burner you plan to use and we will confirm the fit.

Does it need support underneath?

Yes. Build supports from blocks, bricks or metal brackets, and add a center support on plates and pans over 30 in.

Can it be used with propane?

Yes, the burner pan is fuel neutral. The burner, ignition and gas train must match your fuel, and propane needs its own venting and tank guidelines from the manual.

Warranty

Warming Trends' published warranty (June 2026 manual) gives its CROSSFIRE and other jetted brass burners a full lifetime warranty from the date of purchase, transferable with proof of ownership, and states that other Warming Trends products may be covered by separate warranties with different terms. Installation services are not covered unless Warming Trends performed them. The burner pan itself is sold under Warming Trends' separate terms; request the current written terms when you order.
