The Warming Trends CROSSFIRE FRT4830 is a 48 x 30 in. rectangular ready-to-finish fire pit kit: an aluminum frame skinned in 1/2 in. concrete board, with a 28 x 10 in. aluminum pan and a tree-style CROSSFIRE brass burner. Your contractor adds stone, tile or stucco and connects gas instead of building a fire pit from scratch.
The listing rates the tree-style burner at 170,000 BTU. It comes as a natural gas (FRT4830NG) or propane (FRT4830LP) kit with match light ignition.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: 48 x 30 x 18 in. concrete board enclosure on aluminum frame, tree-style CROSSFIRE burner, 28 x 10 in. aluminum pan, single flex line kit, key valve kit with chrome flange and two keys, and fire pit vents
- Required, sold separately: fire-rated media such as Warming Trends black lava rock (BLR) or rolled lava rock (LRR)
- Recommended: Warming Trends CRR2912 aluminum cover, since the warranty requires the burner to be covered when not in use
- Required: non-combustible finish and a contractor to apply it and install the vents, plus a gas line with an exterior shutoff installed by a licensed plumber
Installation Notes
Vents are not pre-installed, so the contractor places them around the veneer on at least two opposing sides, 18 sq in. each, mid to low. Never fill the cavity, keep the capstone off the pan lip so the burner stays serviceable, and keep 36 in. horizontally and 84 in. overhead from combustibles, per the Warming Trends Version 6 manual. Media goes on the pan, no more than 1/2 in. above the jets. For New York City addresses, outdoor gas fire features and their gas piping fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings permitting, and propane at residences is restricted by the NYC Fire Code, so the approval path for a built-in fire pit must be confirmed before you buy. What can I finish it with?
Any non-combustible veneer, such as stone, brick, tile or stucco over the concrete board. Keep the vents clear.
Is media included?
No. Fire-rated media such as lava rock is required and sold separately.
Why does the cut sheet show a different burner?
The linked cut sheet covers the same 48 x 30 frame and 28 x 10 in. pan with a linear CFBL110 burner; this FRT version uses a tree-style burner in that frame.
Can I install this in New York City?
Possibly, but outdoor gas fire features and their gas piping need NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings approval, and propane at residences is restricted by the NYC Fire Code. Talk to us before you order.

Misuse, installation defects, modification and indoor use are excluded, installation services are not covered, and electronics carry separate warranties. Burners and electronics must be covered when not in use or the warranty is void.
