What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Required: decorative media (AFD calls for 15 lb lava or 30 lb fire glass) and a gas supply at 5 to 10.5 in w.c. natural gas or 11 to 13 in w.c. propane
  • Propane: a remote cylinder in a separate enclosure, such as an AFD tank table with an extension hose
  • Optional: AFD 8132A protective vinyl cover

Installation Notes

This is an outdoor-only decorative gas appliance. Set it on a hard, level surface and keep 3 ft of clearance from the sides to any construction and 6 ft overhead. Natural gas units need a licensed plumber to run the line; in New York City that means a licensed master plumber and a DOB permit, and the FDNY restricts propane cylinders on roofs, terraces and balconies, so natural gas is usually the right fuel in the five boroughs. Book a free design consultation and we will help you plan the gas line and placement.

Documentation

Is there an electronic ignition version?

No. AFD offers this model only with the manual flame sensing control.
