Description

Available Sizes: American Made Grills Estate Insulated Grill Liners

36 in. | 42 in. (Current Size)

Each liner fits only the AMG grill size named on its page; confirm the liner cutout before framing the island.

Liner Cutout: 43 x 24-1/2 x 11-1/2 in (W x D x H), per the AMG 2026 cutout sheet

The American Made Grills GL-EST42 is the insulated stainless steel grill liner for the Estate 42 (EST42) and Estate Freedom 42 (EST42FR) built-in grills. AMG requires a liner whenever its grill goes into an island framed or faced with combustible material, such as wood framing or a combustible backer board, and the liner sets into the island first so the grill drops into it. It is the part that makes a lighter framed island, common on terraces and roof decks, a safe home for an AMG grill.

Features

  • Made for Estate and Estate Freedom 42 in AMG grill heads
  • Required by AMG to install the grill in a combustible enclosure
  • Stainless steel insulating jacket separates the grill body from the island framing
  • Sets into the island opening; the grill then drops into the liner
  • Made in the USA by American Made Grills
  • Covered by the AMG Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty on stainless steel construction

Key Specifications

Model / SKU American Made Grills insulated grill liner; GL-EST42
Fits Estate 42 (EST42) and Estate Freedom 42 (EST42FR)
Material Stainless steel
Use Built-in installation in combustible islands
Made in USA

Dimensions and Cutout

Island cutout with liner 43 in W x 24-1/2 in D x 11-1/2 in H (AMG 2026 cutout sheet)
Grill cutout without a liner 40-7/8 in W x 21-5/8 in D x 10-1/4 in H (for non-combustible islands)

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • One AMG GL-EST42 insulated grill liner
  • You will need: the matching AMG 42 in built-in grill, an island opening framed to the liner cutout, and the gas connection and shutoff the grill manual specifies

Installation Notes

Frame the island to the liner cutout, 43 in W x 24-1/2 in D x 11-1/2 in H, not the bare grill cutout. AMG's Estate manual says all islands must be non-combustible unless an AMG grill liner is used, and still calls for 18 in of side and rear clearance to combustible walls (4 in to non-combustible walls), a 5 ft clearance to overhead construction and an exhaust hood under combustible overhead construction.

A framed island is often chosen on a New York City terrace or rooftop to save weight; the liner is what lets the grill go in it. Building approval is usually needed for an outdoor kitchen in a multifamily building, and gas work needs a licensed master plumber.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a liner?

You need one if the island is built from or faced over combustible material. A fully non-combustible masonry island can take the grill directly at the standard grill cutout.

Which grills does it fit?

AMG lists the GL-EST42 for the Estate 42 (EST42) and Estate Freedom 42 (EST42FR).

What cutout does the liner need?

43 in W x 24-1/2 in D x 11-1/2 in H, per the AMG 2026 cutout sheet.

Is the liner covered by warranty?

Yes. AMG covers stainless steel grill liners under its Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty on construction, workmanship and materials, for registered original purchasers.

Coverage is for the original purchaser at the original delivery site with proof of purchase and photo documentation, and the registration form must be submitted online within 30 days of purchase. It covers replacement parts only, not labor, applies to residential use, and excludes discoloration, surface rust, corrosion or oxidation, improper installation, abuse and misuse.
