The Aquafire Lite is the shallow, entry level water vapor fireplace insert: the same Double Air-Vapor Flow system that shapes the flame on the larger Aquafire models, in a chassis about 9-1/4 inches deep that drops into a slimmer wall. It makes a realistic orange flame with no heat, no gas, no smoke and no venting, so it suits a media wall, bedroom, bar back or an old firebox retrofit where a gas or heated electric fireplace is not an option. It comes in four lengths from a 16 inch accent to a 60 inch feature.

The cutout must have sharp corners and exact dimensions because the insert rests on its flanges. Measure carefully and confirm against the installation guide before framing.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included per the Aquafire quick start guide: insert with LED light bar, remote control, AC power adapter, siphon hand pump, fill and drain tube and user manual
- Required: a framed opening built to the cutout table, a nearby outlet, and room for the 24V adapter behind the unit
- Required: a clean, moderately hard water source; descale every three months, or more often in hard water areas
- Optional, selectable above: Vapor Pure water softener (300 or 700 grains) and scent diffuser. If your tap water is harder than 8.5 grains per gallon, ask us about the softener
Installation Notes
Aquafire states there are virtually no limits on decorative finishes because the unit makes no heat, and recommends a matte black, non-reflective interior with a sealed light trap. Seal open wall cavities to prevent downdrafts, keep HVAC air currents away so the vapor can rise, and make the insert easy to remove for service. The manual does not give a TV or mantel clearance. Without a flue or gas line, a water vapor fireplace is a practical choice for New York City apartments. Book a design consultation and we will plan the opening, power and finish with your contractor.

Does the Aquafire Lite produce heat?
No. It makes a flame effect only, with no heat, gas, smoke or venting.
What water do I use?
Use water between 3.5 and 8.5 grains per gallon, ideally about 7.0. Water that is too soft reduces the flame, and reverse osmosis water is not recommended.
Can I direct plumb or gang the Lite?
Not according to the current listing. For direct plumbing or ganging, look at the Aquafire Original or Pro.
How do I fill it?
Connect the fill tube and hold the fill button on the unit or the remote for 5 seconds. The pump stops automatically when the tank is full.

Aquafire covers the Lite Series with a 2 year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship per the current listing; the Aquafire guides we reviewed do not restate the term. Untreated hard water is a common cause of premature mist maker failure, so follow the water guidance above.
