The Broil King Baron 490i Shadow is a complete grill island: a Baron 4-burner grill set into black painted, galvanized steel cabinets with a stainless steel countertop, soft-close drawers, a pull-out propane tank drawer and a pull-out trash and recycling cabinet. It gives a terrace or patio a finished outdoor kitchen look without custom masonry. Four Dual-Tube burners, a 10,000 BTU side burner and a 15,000 BTU rear rotisserie burner with rotisserie kit cover everyday grilling and weekend roasts.

Installation Notes

Keep 16 in from combustible walls above the countertop, 12 in from protected combustible walls and 60 in from the grilling surface to any overhead construction. The island is assembled on site from Broil King's assembly manuals. In New York City, propane tank storage carries FDNY rules and gas work must be done by a licensed master plumber under a DOB permit, so confirm the fuel with us before you order. Is this a grill head or a full island?

Where does the propane tank go?

In the pull-out propane tank drawer inside the island.

Is the rotisserie included?

Yes. The 15,000 BTU rear burner and the rotisserie kit are included; the motor plugs into an outlet at the rear right.

Can I extend it later?

Broil King offers modular cabinets that can add storage to the island.

Broil King's Baron warranty, per its owner's manual: lifetime on stainless or porcelain steel lid components and the cast aluminum cookbox; 15 years on cast stainless and stainless grids, Dual-Tube burners, stainless Flav-R-Wave, stainless components and remaining parts and paint. Coverage is for the original purchaser in normal domestic use; labor and installation are not included. Register with Broil King after purchase.
