The Bromic Tungsten Smart-Heat Portable is a freestanding gas patio heater with an angled honeycomb head, a contoured design for wind resistance and built-in wheels, so it moves easily around a restaurant terrace or a backyard. Bromic rates it at 38,500 BTU for about 215 sq ft. The propane model (BH0510001) runs from a 20 lb tank with a high and low control knob; the natural gas model (BH0510005) ships with a 10 ft quick-connect gas line and runs on high only.

Installation Notes

For outdoor use only, with ventilation and the clearances in Bromic's installation manual. Bromic describes the heater as weather resistant but not waterproof and recommends turning it off when not in use. A natural gas quick-connect outlet should be installed by a qualified gas installer; in New York City that means a licensed master plumber under a DOB permit. FDNY restricts propane cylinder storage and use in the city, so check FDNY rules before using the propane model at a city address.
