The Dimplex Essence ESN100 is the largest model in Dimplex's Essence linear electric series, a 100 inch built-in fireplace for long feature walls and open-plan rooms. It flush mounts in a 2x6 wall or partially recesses in a 2x4 wall, runs on a standard 120V, 15 A circuit with a 1500 W heater, and gives a wide choice of looks: 13 flame colors, three flame speeds, three brightness levels and media color themes, with a touch panel on the glass, an IR remote and the Glen Dimplex Connect app. With no gas line or venting, it is a practical choice for a New York City apartment.

Installation Notes
Two people are needed to lift the ESN100 into the frame. Frame the opening so no building load rests on the fireplace, keep air space below and behind it, and do not set it directly on carpet. Hardwired connections must follow local electrical code; in New York City that work should be done by a licensed electrician. What size opening does the ESN100 need?
100-5/8 in W x 16 in H x 5-1/2 in D, in 2x6 framing for a flush finish.
Does it need a dedicated circuit?
It needs a 15 A, 120V circuit. Dimplex prefers a dedicated circuit and requires one if the breaker trips with the heater running.
Can I run the flames without heat?
Yes. The heater can be turned off or disabled while the flame and media effects run.
Can it be hardwired?
Yes. The manual covers both a 120V hardwire connection and a power cord installation.
