The Fire Magic 3278-52 insulating liner lets you build the Fire Magic power burner and double searing station into an island with combustible framing, such as wood studs, by lining the opening with an insulated 304 stainless box that carries the unit on its hanger. Fire Magic requires an insulating liner whenever this equipment goes into a combustible island, and the countertop itself must still be non-combustible.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

- You will need: the matching Fire Magic unit, an island opening sized as above, a non-combustible countertop, and island ventilation per the appliance manual

Frame the island opening to the liner dimensions above (23 in wide, 20 7/8 in deep, 12 1/4 in high), set the liner, then install the appliance into the liner following its own installation manual, including its ventilation and gas connection requirements.
Fire Magic does not use insulating liners on its single, double or drop-in side burners. Those side burners can go into a combustible enclosure only with a minimum 1/2 in air space on all sides, per the Fire Magic specification guide, so do not buy this liner for a side burner.
In New York City, gas piping to an outdoor kitchen must be installed by a licensed master plumber, and terrace or rooftop islands in multifamily buildings usually need building approval. Building in a wood-framed island? Book a design consultation.

Yes, if the island is combustible construction. Fire Magic requires an insulating liner when installing in a combustible island. In a fully non-combustible island it is not required.
