Description
Description
Liner Cutout: 41 in W x 25-1/8 in D x 12-13/16 in H (Hestan Outdoor Specifications)
The Hestan AGIJ36 insulated jacket is the stainless liner Hestan requires when a 36 in Hestan built-in grill goes into an island built of combustible material such as wood framing. The welded stainless box with heavy insulation sits in the island opening, the grill head slides into it, and the jacket keeps grill heat away from the surrounding structure.
Features
- Required by Hestan for 36 in built-in grills in a combustible island
- Heavy-gauge welded stainless steel construction (per current listing)
- Heavy-duty insulation between the grill and the island structure
- Grill secures to the jacket front, with an optional rear fastening point (Hestan instructions)
- Made in the USA (per current listing)

Installation Notes
Hestan does not recommend building an island of combustible materials, but where one is used the AGIJ36 is required. Build the opening to 41 x 25-1/8 x 12-13/16 in, build up supports so the jacket is secure, and slide it in flush with the island face. Two people then lift the grill head into the jacket, route the gas and electrical connections underneath, secure the grill front to the jacket and finish the installation per the grill Use and Care manual. Keep all combustible material outside a 12 in zone at the sides and rear, and provide at least three 10 sq in vent openings on each side and the back of the island.
In New York City, terrace and rooftop outdoor kitchens in multifamily buildings usually need building or board approval, and any gas or plumbing run through the island must be done by licensed trades.
