The Infratech W1512 is a 33 in single element electric infrared heater, 1,500 W on 120 V, in a copper powder coat over 304 stainless steel finish. It is sized for a small seating nook, a bistro table or a short run of bar stools, and medium wave quartz infrared warms people and surfaces directly instead of the air, so a breeze does not carry the heat away. The W-Series uses a W-shaped 304 stainless steel body about 3 in deep with a mounting bracket at each end, the Infratech body designed for recessed flush mounting.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Infratech W1512 heater in copper, with surface mounting brackets
- You will need: a dedicated 120 V circuit and disconnect installed by a licensed electrician with outdoor-rated fittings, and a control rated for the load (sold separately)
- For a recessed install you will also need the Infratech W-33 flush mount frame (18-2295) and a fire-rated ceiling pocket

Installation Notes
Infratech requires the heater to be permanently installed and hardwired by a licensed electrician to the National Electrical Code and local code. Hold the clearances above, keep cords and drapery at least 3 ft from the front and flammable materials 25 ft away, and mount it level, angled down about 45 degrees for the best spread (30 to 60 degrees on a wall, up to 30 degrees on a ceiling).
Flush mounting uses the Infratech W-33 frame (18-2295) in a flat, non-sloped ceiling framed with at least 2 x 8 joists, inside a five-sided pocket lined with 5/8 in Type X drywall, with the junction box accessible outside the pocket. The heater rests on adjustable L brackets and the surface brackets are not used.
At 12.5 A the W1512 is within the 15 A limit of an Infratech INF input regulator, which pulses the element to vary the heat, or it can run on a simple on/off switch. In New York City, a hardwired outdoor heater is electrical work for a licensed electrician, and terrace or rooftop installs in multifamily buildings often need building or board approval.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much area will it heat?
Infratech rates the W1512 for about 5 x 5 ft average, 3 x 3 ft in cold conditions and 7 x 7 ft in a protected space, from a 6 to 7 ft mounting height. Wind and cold reduce coverage; a protected space does better.
Does it plug in?
No. It is hardwired on a 120 V circuit by a licensed electrician.
Can I use it indoors?
Yes. Infratech heaters are UL listed for indoor and outdoor use, with the same clearances.
Can it be recessed into the ceiling?
Yes, with the Infratech W-33 flush mount frame (18-2295) in a flat ceiling with a fire-rated drywall pocket. Sloped ceilings are not allowed.

Warranty
Infratech backs its heaters with a three-year limited warranty when the heater is registered (online at infratech.com/warranty or by returning the registration card within 30 days of purchase). The warranty covers manufacturer replacement parts only; labor to remove, repair or reinstall is excluded, and damage from improper installation, misuse, harsh cleaning chemicals or non-Infratech controls may void coverage. Keep your proof of purchase.
