The Majestic Ruby 30 (RUBY30IN natural gas, RUBY30IL propane) is a direct vent gas insert that converts an existing wood-burning masonry or factory-built fireplace into a sealed, remote-controlled gas fire. It is sized for openings at least 31-5/8 in. wide, 21 in. high and 15 in. deep, and vents through the old chimney with a co-linear 3 in. flex kit. Choose a surround and a front (both required) to finish the installation.

Installation Notes
The existing fireplace must be cleaned and inspected, the damper fixed open or removed, and the opening must meet the minimum dimensions in installation manual 2542-980. A qualified installer runs the co-linear liner up the chimney (10 to 50 ft vertical) and connects gas and an unswitched 110 to 120 VAC outlet. In New York City, gas work requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and converting a wood fireplace to a direct vent gas insert is a common NYC upgrade. Will the Ruby 30 fit my fireplace?
Your opening needs at least 31-5/8 in. front width, 20-1/8 in. rear width, 21 in. front height and 15 in. depth with the standard surround. Send us your measurements and we will confirm.
Do I need a surround and front?
Yes. Both are required to complete the installation; choose them in the options above.
How is it vented?
Through the existing chimney with a co-linear kit of two 3 in. flex pipes and a vertical termination cap, 10 ft minimum and 50 ft maximum vertical.
Does it work during a power outage?
The Ruby uses a battery pack backup for the IntelliFire Touch ignition; batteries are installed at setup.
