The Marquis Bentley 48 (MQZCV48) is the largest Bentley zero clearance direct vent gas fireplace, a heater-rated firebox with a 43" x 36-3/4" viewing area for a family room or great room where the fire is the focal point. You choose the valve: millivolt standing pilot, IPI with Proflame 1, or IPI with Proflame 2 and its full-function remote, then build the look with a log set or glass tray, a brick liner and a door or surround, all sold separately.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

• Required: a log set or the glass tray with media, such as the MQLOGF48 oak log set, MQLOGF48B burnt oak log set, or the MQZCV48GT glass tray (also required for the MQLOGF48D driftwood set)

• Required: 5" x 8" direct vent pipe and a listed termination, sold separately
• Required: a gas line with shutoff by a licensed plumber, and a 120V receptacle for IPI, fan and lighting options

Installation Notes

The Bentley 48 is a zero clearance direct vent unit, so it draws combustion air from outside and exhausts through a sealed 5" x 8" pipe run vertically through the roof or horizontally through a side wall, or through the PVH58 power vent for longer horizontal runs. For propane horizontal installs Marquis requires an extra foot of vertical rise off the flue before turning horizontal. Framing is not load bearing, mantel heights depend on whether you build a vented or non-vented chase, and the manual lists the termination clearances to windows, doors and soffits. The unit is certified for bedroom installation where local code allows. In New York City the gas piping must be done by a licensed master plumber and the termination must meet NYC Fuel Gas Code clearances. Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Bentley 48 come with logs?

No. The firebox ships without media. Choose a 48 log set, or the glass tray with ember glass, stones or the driftwood set, plus an optional brick liner.

Millivolt, IPI Proflame 1 or IPI Proflame 2?

Millivolt keeps a standing pilot lit and works with a simple wall switch. IPI lights the pilot only on demand. Proflame 2 adds the factory remote with fan, thermostat and accent light control.

Can it go in a bedroom?

Marquis certifies it for bedroom and bed/sitting room installation in the United States, subject to local code.

Can I put a TV or mantel above it?

Yes, within the mantel clearance charts in the manual. A vented chase allows lower mantel heights than a non-vented chase, so decide the chase type before framing.

Warranty

Marquis (Kingsman) covers the replacement of any defective component, including labor at Kingsman's rate schedule, for the first year after installation; accent light bulbs, gasketing, glass fronts and paint are excluded. The heat exchanger, combustion chamber and burner carry a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner, with labor, freight and handling not covered. Coverage applies only while the unit stays at its original installation site in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii or Canada and is installed by code.
