Installation Notes

Fit the surround before applying finishing materials. The manual calls for the tile lip (supplied with the fireplace) to be set in the second hole from the top, which keeps the required 5/8 in. space above the opening, and wall coverings must stay out of that 5/8 in. space around the opening. In New York City, gas fireplaces and inserts are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed master plumber, with DOB filing where required.
