Installation Notes
The Havelock Elite is a direct vent appliance, so it draws combustion air from outside and exhausts through a sealed 4 in. / 7 in. vent run to a wall or roof termination; maximum runs are 20 ft horizontal and 40 ft vertical. Keep 2 in. to the back wall, 7 in. to a side wall and 20 in. to the ceiling above, and install it on a non-combustible or approved floor as the manual requires. Installation must be done by a licensed gas fitter in line with local codes. In New York City, direct vent stoves fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code, with a licensed master plumber and DOB filing where required, and the termination location usually decides feasibility. We confirm venting and permitting during a fireplace design consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Havelock Elite include a blower?
Yes. The blower is included and plugs into a 115 V supply, so plan a receptacle near the stove.
Will it run during a power outage?
Yes. The ProFlame II ignition has battery back-up, so the flame and remote keep working; the blower needs household power.
Can I run it on propane?
Yes. Select the Propane option, which adds the W175-10011046 conversion kit. Propane input is 39,000 BTU/h.
Can it go in a bedroom?
Napoleon approves the GDS50-2 for bathroom, bedroom and bed-sitting room installations, subject to local code.
