Description

The Napoleon F45 is a two-button on/off remote for gas fireplaces, stoves and inserts. The transmitter shows room temperature on its LCD, and the battery receiver wires to the gas valve. The F45 instructions approve it for most gas appliances with millivolt or electronic ignition, and the Napoleon gas stove brochure lists the F45 for its cast iron stoves, including the Bayfield.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: transmitter, wall mount cradle, receiver, wall faceplate, fireplace mounting plate, slide switch, 2 AAA and 4 AA batteries (manual)
  • Required: a compatible gas fireplace, stove or insert
  • Thermostatic option: Napoleon F60

Installation Notes

Per the instructions, turn off power and gas, set the receiver switch to OFF, and wire the receiver output to terminals TPTH and TH of a millivolt valve, or to the switch leads of an electronic ignition module. In New York City, gas fireplaces and stoves are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed master plumber, with DOB filing where required.

Does it have a thermostat?

No. The F45 is on/off only; the F60 adds thermostatic control.

Can I lock it?

Yes. A child-proof switch on the transmitter locks it, per the manual.
