This listing offers different configuration types. Selecting a variant marked "Logs Only" supplies the Mountain Crest Oak decorative log set without a G31 gas burner, valve or ignition system. Selecting a combination variant supplies the selected logs plus the particular burner/control components specified in that variant's title. Do not select a logs-only option if you need a complete working gas log system.
The Ray Murray 2026–2027 catalog separates G31 burner systems and MCO/MCS logs into individual SKUs. A compatible gas valve/ignition assembly, correctly sized burner/log pairing, approved working vented fireplace and installation are required for a complete installation. The listed base "logs only" price must not be interpreted as the price of a complete gas system. Check the current manufacturer instructions and gas/size selection.

The Real Fyre Mountain Crest Oak vented gas log set (MCO) pairs hand-painted refractory ceramic logs with Real Fyre's three-tier G31 burner, built for an existing wood-burning fireplace with a working chimney. It is for homeowners who want the look of a real oak fire without hauling wood or cleaning ash.
The G31 burner stacks three rows of flame for a tall, full fire, and each log has steel rods cast inside for strength. Choose the size, gas type and ignition above: the APK-17 auto pilot kit or electronic ignition, both with variable flame and remote, or the logs alone.

Installation Notes
Real Fyre G31 burners may only be installed in a wood-burning fireplace that meets the minimum firebox sizes above and the venting table in the manual: for example, a 15 ft chimney needs a permanent damper opening of 24 to 42 sq in. on factory-built fireplaces and 35 to 52 sq in. on masonry, depending on set size. The flame is yellow by design, so the damper must be fully open when burning and the damper clamp must stay installed. In New York City, gas log installations must be performed by a licensed master plumber with the required permits, and the fireplace and chimney must be approved for use; we confirm this before you buy. How do I choose the size?
Measure the front width, rear width, depth and height of your firebox. The 18/20 in. set needs at least a 28 in. front width and 16 in. depth; each larger size needs a wider opening, as listed above.
Can I use this in a fireplace that does not burn wood?
No. The G31 is a vented decorative appliance and must go in a working solid-fuel burning fireplace with an open chimney.
Which ignition should I pick?
The APK-17 auto pilot kit uses a standing pilot with a variable-flame remote. The electronic (2VT) system also has a variable-flame remote and lights the pilot only when needed.
Will it heat my room?
The G31 is certified as a vented decorative appliance. It runs with the damper fully open, so it is designed for the look of a fire rather than as a heat source.

R.H. Peterson Co. limited warranty, per the G31 manual: vented refractory gas logs are covered for as long as the original purchaser owns them when used indoors (3 years outdoors); indoor vented burners are covered for 10 years, excluding controls; the SPK-26 safety pilot kit for 3 years; the APK-17 kit, including its valve, for 2 years; and all other valves, pilots and controls for 1 year, excluding batteries. Proof of purchase is required, installation must be done by a qualified professional, and labor is not covered.
