The Primo PGHXL Easy Lift Hinge and Handle Kit is the factory replacement hinge, bands and handle for Primo Oval XL 400 kamados built after 2015, the generation with looped band ends. The spring-assisted hinge reduces the effort needed to raise the ceramic dome by about 70 percent, per the current listing.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

Installation Notes
Swap the kit with the grill cold and at least two people steadying the dome; never lift the grill by the hinge. Per the Primo owner's manual, lubricate the hinge twice a year and keep the band bolts tight. In New York City, FDNY rules restrict charcoal grilling on the balconies and terraces of multifamily buildings, so confirm with your board or management where a kamado may be used before you buy.
