The Real Fyre Charred Mountain Birch is a vented gas log set from R.H. Peterson, cast in refractory ceramic with a charred finish and sold here with the 3-tiered G31 burner system, which stacks the flame across three levels for a tall, full fire. It goes in a working wood-burning fireplace with an open chimney.
Choose the log size, gas type and control: match lit, manual valve with standing pilot, automatic variable valve with remote, electronic on/off remote or electronic variable valve with remote, or logs only (CHMBW) for an existing Peterson burner.

Installation Notes
Gas logs must be installed by a qualified gas installer in a solid-fuel fireplace with a working chimney, with the damper clamp holding the minimum permanent opening from the manual. Use only Peterson burners and valves with these logs. In New York City, gas piping to a fireplace requires a licensed master plumber and permit, and the chimney should be inspected before installation. Can I use this with propane?
R.H. Peterson's G31 manual lists the burner for natural gas only and not field convertible, so confirm any propane option with us before ordering.
Does it need a chimney?
Yes. These are vented logs for a wood-burning fireplace with a working flue, and the damper must stay open.
What size do I need?
Measure your firebox front width, rear width, depth and height and compare them to the minimums in the dimensions table.
Can I buy the logs only?
Yes. The logs-only option (CHMBW) works with an existing Peterson vented burner system.

Warranty
R.H. Peterson warranty per the G31 manual: refractory gas logs lifetime indoors, indoor vented burners 10 years (controls excluded), SPK-26 pilot kit 3 years, APK-17 kit and valve 2 years, other valves, pilots and controls 1 year. Logs are warranted only when used on a Peterson vented burner system.
