The Superior DRT3000 45 in. traditional direct vent gas fireplace (DRT3045) brings a large, classic log fire to a living room or family room with a 39-1/4 in. by 24-1/2 in. view and a 17 in. deep body. It comes with a log set and glowing embers, and you finish the opening with one of Superior's facades.
Choose millivolt ignition, which runs without house power, or electronic ignition with battery backup. Superior rates the 45 in. model at up to 28,000 BTU/h on natural gas, and it vents through the top or the rear.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: DRT3045 fireplace, log set, glowing embers, header shield, elbow/wall heat shield, non-combustible board with brackets, vent restrictors, vent cover plates, rear flue cover and 15 ft of two-conductor wire
- Required to complete installation, sold separately: one Superior 45 in. Traditional facade kit, which includes the safety barrier and the hood the fireplace needs. Choose Vista Black FVFBK45T, Reflection Black FRBK45T, Reflection Warm Chestnut FRWC45T, Craftsman Black FCBK45T or Craftsman Warm Chestnut FCWC45T. The DRT3000-E manual lists these as the required facade options, and the fireplace must not be operated until the facade and barrier are installed.

Installation Notes
The DRT3045 frames into a 45-7/8 in. W x 41-1/4 in. H x 18-1/2 in. D opening and can vent from the top or the rear with Superior's 4-1/2 in. / 7-1/2 in. Secure Vent or Secure Flex. With top venting, no combustible material may touch the rear flue cap. Millivolt models need power only if a blower is added; electronic models need 120V, with AA batteries keeping the burner running in an outage. A facade and barrier must be installed before the fireplace is used. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed installer. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed plumber with DOB filing where required, and the vent termination location usually decides feasibility. Frequently Asked Questions
Millivolt or electronic ignition?
Millivolt runs on its own pilot power and suits homes where outages are common. Electronic ignition lights the pilot only when needed and has a battery backup.
Do I need to buy a facade?
Yes. The DRT3000-E manual requires a facade kit with barrier, purchased separately and installed before operation. For the 45 in. model choose FVFBK45T (Vista Black), FRBK45T or FRWC45T (Reflection), or FCBK45T or FCWC45T (Craftsman).
Can it vent out the back?
Yes. The DRT3000 can vent from the top or the rear.
How much heat does it make?
Up to 28,000 BTU/h on natural gas and 27,000 on propane for the 45 in. model.

Warranty
Superior (Innovative Hearth Products) 20 Year Limited Warranty, per the installation manual: the product body, firebox and barrier are covered for 20 years, and ceramic glass for 20 years against thermal breakage only, with IHP paying its prevailing labor rates on covered repairs for up to five years. The burner, gas components and gaskets are covered for 1 year, logs for 1 year against thermal breakage, optional blowers and remote controls for 1 year, tempered glass for 1 year, and optional glass doors and unlisted parts for 90 days. Vent components, trim and paint are excluded. Coverage is for the original owner only, requires purchase from a listed IHP supplier with proof of purchase, and requires installation and repair by an IHP-approved licensed contractor.
