The Superior DRT4045 (DRT4000-E series) is a 45 in. traditional direct vent gas fireplace with a deeper 21 in. firebox, a log set with volcanic stone and glowing embers, and electronic ignition operated by a wall switch. Rated 31,000 BTU/h on natural gas or propane, it is the value step below the DRT4245, which adds the remote, liners and higher input. Blower and lighting are optional kits.

Installation Notes
Frame to 45-7/8 in. x 41-1/4 in. x 23 in., vent with Superior Secure Vent and bring 120 V power to the unit per manual 901277-00. If you want the optional blower, run its circuit to a wall switch during rough-in. In New York City, gas work requires a licensed master plumber and permits; direct vent fireplaces are a common NYC-compliant choice. Does the DRT4045 come with a remote and blower?
No. The DRT4000-E ships with wall switch wiring; the remote is packaged only with DRT4200-E models, and the FBK-250 blower and lighting are optional.
How much heat does it make?
21,000 to 31,000 BTU/h on natural gas and 20,000 to 31,000 BTU/h on propane per the Superior manual.
How deep is the framing?
23 in., with a 41-1/4 in. height and a 45-7/8 in. minimum width.
What is the difference from the DRT4245?
The DRT4245 is rated up to 42,000 BTU/h, includes a remote and requires firebox liners.
