The Superior DRT6340TEN is the 40-inch model in Superior's DRT6300 traditional direct vent series, built for homeowners who want a classic, full-size wood-fire look with tall flames, a flush hearth and a clean face with no visible louvers. A split oak ceramic fiber log set, glowing embers and a full-function remote ship with the fireplace, and the IHP 20-year limited warranty is one of the longer body and firebox warranties in this class.

Installation Notes
Plan for a natural gas line, a 120 VAC receptacle and an 8 in. / 11 in. Secure Vent run with between 6 ft and 40 ft of vertical vent. Frame to 50-3/4 in. W x 45 in. H x 26 in. D, keep combustible mantels within the mantel chart, and do not insulate the space between the fireplace and the area above it. Superior describes the DRT6300 as a decorative fireplace that may not be used as the primary heat source in a dwelling. Installation must be done by a licensed contractor; IHP requires an approved licensed installer to keep warranty coverage. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed plumber with DOB filing where required. Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 40 in. size the glass size?
No. 40 in. is the size class. The framed opening is 50-3/4 in. wide, and Superior also makes a 45 in. DRT6345 with a larger firebox.
Can I convert it to propane?
Yes. Choose the propane option above to add the GCK-MDLX40NP conversion kit, which must be installed by a qualified technician. Input stays at 32,000 to 50,000 BTU/h on LP.
Does it work without power?
Yes. Four AA batteries can run the fireplace full time or as backup during an outage. Line power is recommended for everyday use.
Is a blower included?
No. A blower is optional for the DRT6300 and is covered for one year under the warranty.

Warranty
IHP 20 Year Limited Warranty: the product body, firebox and barrier are covered for 20 years, and ceramic glass for 20 years against thermal breakage. Burner, gas components, gaskets, logs (thermal breakage), tempered glass and optional blowers and remotes are covered for one year. IHP pays its prevailing labor rates for covered repairs for up to five years. Vent components, trim and paint are excluded.
