Description
Description
Overall Dimensions: 47-3/4 in. W x 37-1/4 in. H x 20 in. D; opening 42 in. W x 27-7/8 in. H; framing 48-1/4 in. W x 40-1/4 in. H x 20-1/2 in. D (Superior VRT3200 smart sheet)
The Superior VRT3242 is the 42 in. model of the VRT3200 series of vent-free gas fireboxes: a radiant smooth-faced, low-to-the-floor masonry-style firebox built to hold a listed vent-free gas log set, so you get a traditional fireplace with no chimney or vent pipe. Choose the liner above: refractory brick in stacked (VRT3242WS) or herringbone (VRT3242WH) pattern.
The firebox has no burner of its own. Superior says it is compatible with any listed ANSI Z21.11.2 vent-free log set and recommends its own sets for best results, so the log set, its burner and its controls are chosen and purchased separately. The fuel choice above refers to the log set you plan to install.

Vent-free appliances need enough room volume or ventilation air for the log set's BTU rating and are restricted in bedrooms; follow the firebox and log set manuals. Do not burn wood. Vent-free gas appliances cannot be installed in New York City under the NYC Fuel Gas Code. We sell this model for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows it. Talk to us about the right log set and whether a vent-free system suits your home outside the city.
