The Superior WRT2042/WCT2042 is the 42 in. model of the WRT/WCT2000 wood-burning fireplace series: choose the radiant, smooth-faced WRT2042 or the circulating WCT2042 with a rolled louver front above. A fully insulated firebox improves performance in colder climates, and stacked refractory panels give it a traditional look.
It vents through Superior's 8 in. 8DM or 8HT wood-burning chimney, and an adjustable outside air damper is standard. Bi-fold glass doors, outside air kits, gas logs and a fan kit (circulating WCT only) are optional.

Installation Notes
Frame and vent with Superior's 8 in. 8DM or 8HT chimney components per the installation manual, including clearances, hearth extension and chimney height. New York City does not permit new wood-burning fireplaces or stoves under Local Law 38 of 2015, so we sell this model for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows them. Book a design consultation to plan the fireplace, chimney and hearth.

Radiant or circulating?
The WRT2042 is radiant with a smooth face; the WCT2042 is circulating with rolled louvers and is the only version that takes the optional fan kit.
What chimney does it use?
Superior's 8 in. 8DM or 8HT wood-burning chimney; 8HT is required in Canada.
Can I add gas logs?
Superior lists optional gas log sets; vent-free log sets are not permitted in New York City.
Can it be installed in NYC?
Not as a new wood-burning fireplace; NYC Local Law 38 of 2015 does not permit them.

Warranty
Superior (Innovative Hearth Products) 20 year limited warranty, per the Superior smart sheet: IHP's 20 year coverage applies to the product body and firebox, while screens and refractory carry 2 years, electrical parts 1 year, optional glass doors 90 days and fuel grates are consumable, per the IHP wood fireplace warranty. Coverage is for the original owner, requires purchase from a listed IHP supplier and installation by an IHP-approved licensed contractor in the United States or Canada.
