Installation Notes
Per Trade-Wind, install the hood under a roof with at least 3 ft of weatherproof coverage on all sides not protected by an adjacent wall, run rigid metal ducting to the outdoors with sealed joints, and do not use any damper in a BBQ application. Mount 36 in. above the cooking surface. In New York City, exhaust ducting through roofs or walls often needs building approval, so confirm the duct route early. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the P7242-12 include a blower?
Yes. It has a 1200 CFM internal blower. The P7242 is the remote-blower version.
What grill size does a 42 in. hood suit?
A hood should be wider than the grill; a 42 in. hood is a common match for 30 to 36 in. grills.
Can it discharge out the back?
Yes. The P7200 series converts to horizontal ducting using the steps in the installation manual.
Can it go on an open patio?
No. Trade-Wind requires roof coverage over the hood to protect it from direct rain.
