What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: the hood, baffle filters, telescopic duct cover for 9 to 10 ft ceilings and installation instructions.
- Optional: the PDC7272 duct cover for 10 to 12 ft ceilings, selectable on this listing.
- Required: metal ductwork only (no flex duct) sized no smaller than the discharge port, a wall or roof cap with no damper, and a 120 V grounded circuit. Trade-Wind no longer sells wall or roof caps; the instructions give a drawing for one built locally.
Installation Notes
Installation and electrical work must be done by a qualified installer. Seal all duct joints and roof openings, use an approved cap with open area at least equal to the discharge port, and avoid goose-neck and mushroom-style caps. Provide at least three feet of weatherproof roof cover on any side not shielded by a wall. Hood and ductwork for outdoor kitchens in New York City can fall under the building code and Department of Buildings review. Book a consultation and we will review the hood, duct run and island plan with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the hood come with a blower?
Yes. The P7272-23 has an internal 2300 CFM blower with 3-speed control.
How high should it be mounted?
The installation instructions recommend 36 inches above the cooking surface, because mounting higher reduces smoke capture.
What ceiling height does the duct cover fit?
The included telescopic cover fits 9 to 10 foot ceilings. The PDC7272 cover for 10 to 12 foot ceilings is available as a listing option.
Is a roof or wall cap included?
No. Trade-Wind no longer offers caps, and its instructions give a recommended design to build locally with no damper.

Warranty
Trade-Wind's warranty runs three years from the date of purchase for the original user, with defective parts repaired or replaced at the manufacturer's option. Light bulbs and problems from undersized ducting or restrictive caps are not covered.
