The TrueFlame TF40 is a 40 in., 5-burner built-in gas grill in #304 stainless steel, sized as the centerpiece of a full outdoor kitchen island. Five 14,000 BTU cast stainless burners (70,000 BTU total) heat square stainless grates, and four heat zone separators let you run different temperatures across the grill.

A 10,000 BTU infrared back burner is ready for an optional rotisserie kit. Flame Thrower ignition with flash tube backup, interior halogen lights, a full-length red LED bar, backlit knobs and a balanced multi-position hood round it out.

Installation Notes

TrueFlame grills are built-in grills for a non-combustible island; in a combustible surround the TrueFlame GL-TF40 insulating liner must be used. The manual calls for 4 in. to non-combustible walls at the sides and rear, 14 in. to protected combustible walls, 18 in. to combustible walls and 5 ft from countertop to overhead construction, with a hood of at least 1,200 CFM under any combustible roof. The island needs four 10 sq in. vent openings, two at the top and two at floor level. In New York City, gas grills on terraces and rooftops are regulated by the FDNY and the Department of Buildings, gas piping must be run by a licensed master plumber, and propane cylinder use is heavily restricted, so we review the space before quoting. Do I need a grill liner?

Only in a combustible island. TrueFlame requires the GL-TF40 liner there.

Is a rotisserie included?

The 10,000 BTU infrared back burner is built in; the TFRK-40 rotisserie kit is sold separately.

Can I put it under a covered patio?

Keep 5 ft to overhead construction. Under a combustible roof TrueFlame requires a hood larger than the grill with at least 1,200 CFM.

TrueFlame (AMD Direct) Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty, per the AMD Direct warranty document (ver. 2.21.23) and owner's manual: lifetime coverage on construction and manufacturer defects, stainless steel construction, cooking grates, burners, burner covers, valves, flame tamers, heat zone separators, temperature gauges and hood springs, with replacement parts 100% non-prorated; 3 years on all other parts, components and electrical, including LED bulbs, wire harness, switches, power source wire, transformer and interior halogen light wire and bulb. Coverage is for the original purchaser at the original delivery site, requires online registration within 30 days of purchase, proof of purchase and proof of regular maintenance, covers replacement parts only (no labor), and does not cover discoloration, surface rust, corrosion or oxidation.
