Installation Notes

AMD recommends mounting the hood 32 to 36 in. above the cooking surface and at least 6 in. wider than the grill at that height. Duct it with 8 in. rigid metal pipe, ideally vertically through the roof, with no more than three 90 degree elbows, never into an attic and never with plastic duct. Secure it to studs or with toggle bolts. In New York City, a hood on a terrace or rooftop usually means new duct penetrations and electrical work, so building approval and a licensed electrician are part of the plan.
