The Viking Professional 5 Series VQGI5301 is a 30-inch built-in grill that packs three heat sources into a compact island cutout: a 25,000 BTU cast brass main burner, a ProSear infrared burner for steakhouse searing, and a 14,000 BTU rear infrared burner that drives the dual-position rotisserie. With 840 square inches of cooking surface, ceramic briquettes for even heat and dual halogen lights, it suits buyers who want the Viking name and full-size features in a 30-inch footprint.

Installation Notes

The VQGI5301 hangs from its countertop trim in a 29 x 24.5 x 10.88 inch cutout in a non-combustible island; a combustible enclosure requires the insulated jacket, supported by side ledges or a full deck. Keep combustible construction 12 inches away below the counter and 18 inches above it, leave 3 inches behind for the hood and 6 inches on the left for the rotisserie motor, and add vent openings in the enclosure. Never install it under unprotected overhead combustible surfaces. Viking calls for a 120V, 15 A GFCI outlet installed by a qualified electrician. In New York City, gas piping on terraces and rooftops must be run by a licensed master plumber with building approval. For island layouts and cutout drawings, book a design consultation.

What is the ProSear burner?

ProSear is Viking's infrared burner. It concentrates intense radiant heat for searing steaks and chops, which you can then finish over the brass burner.

Does it come with the rotisserie?

Yes. The dual-position rotisserie with a 3-speed motor and the 14,000 BTU rear infrared burner are built in.

What cutout does it need?

29 inches wide, 24.5 inches deep and 10.88 inches high in a non-combustible island. With the LIJ30 insulated jacket for a combustible island, the opening grows to 36 x 26.5 x 11.63 inches.

Natural gas or propane?

Order VQGI5301NSS for natural gas or VQGI5301LSS for propane. Viking offers conversion kits if your fuel changes later.

Warranty

Viking Range, LLC publishes the following outdoor grill warranty for this model: one year full on the complete product; ninety days full on cosmetic parts; and five years limited on the stainless steel burner assembly, ceramic ProSear burner, electric warming drawer element, grill grate, side or power burner grate and briquette tray.
