The Superior OSTK-LIN48 is the indoor/outdoor see-through conversion kit for Superior's 48 inch linear gas fireplaces, so one fireplace can be viewed from a room on one side and an outdoor space on the other. Superior's DRL4000 brochure lists an Indoor/Outdoor See-through Kit for the 48 in model only, and its VRL6000 sheet lists an indoor/outdoor see-through option as well. The current listing names the Superior DRL4048, DRL6048 and VRL6048 as compatible; we confirm the exact kit for your fireplace model before ordering.

Installation Notes

Plan the indoor/outdoor kit with the fireplace, since see-through conversions are framed in at the time of installation, and follow the fireplace manual for the see-through framing and all warnings. Blowers cannot be used in a see-through application. In New York City, gas work must be done by a licensed master plumber under a DOB permit. If the kit is used with the vent-free VRL6048: Vent-free gas appliances cannot be installed in New York City under the NYC Fuel Gas Code.
