Description

Available Sizes: Superior HeatFlo Convection Kits for DRL Fireplaces

For 45 in. (DRL2045, DRL3545) (Current Size) | For 55 in. (DRL2055, DRL3555, DRL4048, DRL6048)

Each HeatFlo kit fits only the Superior fireplaces named on its page; frame to the HeatFlo dimensions in the fireplace manual.

The Superior HTFLO-DV45 HeatFlo kit redirects the convective heat that would rise off the front of the fireplace, just above the glass, to a vent opening higher on the wall. It is listed for the Superior DRL2045 and DRL3545 linear fireplaces and makes a TV above the fireplace practical.

  • Kit, HeatFlo 45 DV Units (Superior Cat. No. F4454)
  • Allows a TV or recessed TV pocket above the fireplace when framed per the manual
  • Plan it before framing: the manual has separate HeatFlo framing dimensions
  • A 60 in flex extension kit (HTFLO-EK-4.5) is listed

Installation Notes

With the kit, the manual allows a flush-wall TV at least 12 in above the fireplace opening and 3 in below the HeatFlo vent, which sits at least 4 in below the ceiling. Minimum height from the fireplace base to the ceiling is 81-1/2 in. Follow the TV maker's temperature limits too.

In New York City, a direct-vent gas fireplace needs a licensed master plumber and a permit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need it to mount a TV above the fireplace?

It is the Superior kit for that job. Follow the HeatFlo framing and TV dimensions in the fireplace manual exactly.

Can I add it after the wall is finished?

Plan it before framing; the manual gives separate framing dimensions for HeatFlo installations.
