The Superior DRL2000 45 in. linear direct vent gas fireplace (DRL2045) is the clean-face, entry model of Superior's DRL linear line: a 40 in. wide view over black glass media, sealed combustion venting and an electronic ignition that keeps working through a power outage on four AA batteries.
Superior rates the natural gas model at 18,000 BTU/h high and 14,000 low with 70.7% AFUE. The optional HeatFlo kit redirects heat away from the wall above, a common choice when a TV goes over the fireplace.

- Optional: remote control or wall switch; the DRL2045 does not include a remote
- Required: Superior Secure Vent 4-1/2 in. / 7-1/2 in. components such as the SV4.5L6 rigid vent section and, for attic runs, the SV4.5RSA attic insulation shield

Installation Notes
The DRL2045 frames into a 45-7/8 in. W x 29 in. H opening with 18 in. of depth for flush framing and vents from the top with Superior's 4-1/2 in. / 7-1/2 in. Secure Vent or Secure Flex; Superior strongly recommends at least 1 ft of vertical rise directly off the unit. It needs 120V power, with the AA battery pack keeping the burner running in an outage. Mantel and shelf heights are set out in the manual, and the HeatFlo kit lowers them. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed installer. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed plumber with DOB filing where required, and the vent termination location usually decides feasibility. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DRL2000 and DRL3500?
The DRL3500 adds lights, a blower, a remote control and platinum glass media, with a higher BTU rating. The DRL2000 is the simpler clean-face model with black glass media.
Will it run during a power outage?
Yes. Four AA batteries back up the ignition and burner; the blower, if fitted, does not run on batteries.
Can I put a TV above it?
Yes, with planning. Superior's optional HeatFlo kit for the 45 in. model redirects heat and reduces the clearances above.
Does it include a remote?
No. The DRL2045 has no remote in the box; Superior offers optional remotes and wall switches.

Warranty
Superior (Innovative Hearth Products) 20 Year Limited Warranty, per the installation manual: the product body, firebox and barrier are covered for 20 years, and ceramic glass for 20 years against thermal breakage only, with IHP paying its prevailing labor rates on covered repairs for up to five years. The burner, gas components and gaskets are covered for 1 year, logs for 1 year against thermal breakage, optional blowers and remote controls for 1 year, tempered glass for 1 year, and optional glass doors and unlisted parts for 90 days. Vent components, trim and paint are excluded. Coverage is for the original owner only, requires purchase from a listed IHP supplier with proof of purchase, and requires installation and repair by an IHP-approved licensed contractor.
