The Superior DRL2000 35 in. linear direct vent gas fireplace (DRL2035) is the compact clean-face model of Superior's DRL linear line, with a 30 in. wide view over black glass media. It suits bedrooms, dens and smaller living rooms where you want a modern linear flame on a modest wall.
Superior rates it at 15,000 BTU/h high and 13,000 low on natural gas, with 68.9% AFUE. Electronic ignition with a four AA battery backup keeps it running through a power outage, and it is listed for bedroom installation.

- Required: Superior Secure Vent 4-1/2 in. / 7-1/2 in. components such as the SV4.5L6 rigid vent section and, for attic runs, the SV4.5RSA attic insulation shield
- Required: gas line and 120V power
Installation Notes
The DRL2035 frames into a 35-7/8 in. W x 29 in. H opening with 18 in. of depth for flush framing and vents from the top with Superior's 4-1/2 in. / 7-1/2 in. Secure Vent or Secure Flex; Superior strongly recommends at least 1 ft of vertical rise directly off the unit. It needs 120V power, with the AA battery pack keeping the burner running in an outage. Mantel and shelf heights are set out in the manual. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed installer. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed plumber with DOB filing where required, and the vent termination location usually decides feasibility. Indoor. The DRL2035 is a sealed direct vent fireplace listed as a vented gas fireplace heater, including for bedrooms.
Will it run during a power outage?
Yes. Four AA batteries back up the electronic ignition and burner.
How much wall space does it need?
Frame 35-7/8 in. wide, 29 in. high and 18 in. deep for a flush install, plus room above for the vent.
What is the difference between the DRL2000 and DRL3500?
The DRL3500 adds lights, a blower, a remote and a higher BTU rating. The DRL2000 is the simpler clean-face model with black glass media.

Warranty
Superior (Innovative Hearth Products) 20 Year Limited Warranty, per the installation manual: the product body, firebox and barrier are covered for 20 years, and ceramic glass for 20 years against thermal breakage only, with IHP paying its prevailing labor rates on covered repairs for up to five years. The burner, gas components and gaskets are covered for 1 year, logs for 1 year against thermal breakage, optional blowers and remote controls for 1 year, tempered glass for 1 year, and optional glass doors and unlisted parts for 90 days. Vent components, trim and paint are excluded. Coverage is for the original owner only, requires purchase from a listed IHP supplier with proof of purchase, and requires installation and repair by an IHP-approved licensed contractor.
