Round AB Series bioethanol burners. AB3 and AB8 have different heights, top trays, heat outputs, room-volume requirements and installation clearances. Choose the matching stainless steel or black finish on the destination page; compare the model specifications.

The EcoSmart Fire AB3 is the smaller of the two round AB Series bioethanol burners: a 2.5 liter, 304 stainless steel burner for compact custom fire features indoors or out, such as a small fire pit, table insert or niche. It needs no flue, gas line or electrical connection, burns clean e-NRG bioethanol for about 8 to 11 hours per fill, and ships with the jerry can, lighting rod and lighter needed to run it safely.

Installation Notes

Set the AB3 in non-combustible material only, such as stainless steel, concrete, brick or natural stone, in a fixed position, and keep the firebox or open-installation clearances above. A custom firebox must be non-combustible, take a top tray, have 0.8 in spacers on all sides and a 7 to 9 in static windscreen. Fill only when the burner is cool, and never refill while lit.

In New York City, ethanol fire features are popular because they need no gas line or chimney, but co-op and condo boards and FDNY rules for balconies, terraces and fuel storage still apply, so confirm what your building allows before you buy.

Warranty

MAD Design Group warrants EcoSmart Fire stainless steel parts (raw, linished, powder-coated and black ceramic coated) for two (2) years from the date of purchase, and mild steel, cement, glass and similar materials for one (1) year, under a transferable limited warranty; defective parts are repaired or replaced without cost for materials or labour through an authorized service centre. Chips and scratches are not covered, and installation service calls and shipping costs are excluded. See the manual for full terms.
