The Fire Magic Lift-A-Fire 3334 is the simplest way to add charcoal grilling to a masonry island: an open, flush-top charcoal grill that slides into a 32 1/4 in opening and cooks on a 540 sq in surface. Two crank-adjustable charcoal pans let you set direct or indirect heat, and this listing includes the Diamond Sear stainless cooking grids that Fire Magic sells separately.

Installation Notes
Fire Magic designs the Lift-A-Fire for outdoor use only and for installation in non-combustible enclosures only. Do not use it under unprotected flammable surfaces or inside a building, garage or other enclosed area.
Slide the grill into the opening, thread the crank handle into the frame, then set the cooking grids in place (on the oven frame if you add the optional grill oven). Spread charcoal evenly and keep it no higher than 1 in above the charcoal pans.
In New York City, FDNY and building rules restrict open-flame and charcoal cooking on balconies, terraces and rooftops, so confirm what your building and location allow before you plan the island. Designing an island around it? Book a design consultation.
