Installation Notes

Gas connection and ignition power must be installed by a qualified installer. Keep the clearances listed under Dimensions and Cutout, and size the enclosure to the cutout. In New York City, gas work must be done by a licensed master plumber under a DOB permit, and propane tank storage in the city carries FDNY rules, so confirm the fuel with us before you order. We install in NYC, Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey. Book a free design consultation and we will help you plan the layout, utilities and installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the 9E and 9L models?

The 9L models replace the left cast E-burner with an infrared searing burner, so they have two E-burners, one infrared burner and the rear infrared rotisserie burner. The 9E models have three E-burners and the rear rotisserie burner. Window models end in -W.

How many BTUs does the E790i have?

Fire Magic rates the three main burners at 96,000 BTU/h combined and the rear infrared burner at 13,000 BTU/h. On 9L models, authorized dealers list the two E-burners at 64,000 BTU/h plus a 25,000 BTU/h infrared burner; Fire Magic does not publish a separate figure.

What cutout do I need for the E790i?

37 inches wide, 23-1/2 inches deep and 11-1/2 inches high, with the clearances to walls, corners and neighboring appliances listed above.

Digital or analog thermometer: which should I pick?

Digital adds the underglass display, smartphone monitoring and a meat probe. Analog is a hood gauge with no app. The grill cooks the same either way.

Warranty

Fire Magic's published residential warranty covers the cast stainless steel burners, Diamond Sear grids and stainless housing for as long as you own the grill. Brass valves, manifold assemblies and backburner assemblies carry 15 years (excluding ignition). Flavor grids and infrared burners carry 5 years. Other grill components carry 3 years, and ignition and electronic parts, including lights and thermometer, carry 1 year. Fire Magic also pays labor for the first two years. Per the full warranty in the owner's manual, coverage does not apply to rust, corrosion, oxidation or discoloration unless the affected part becomes inoperable, and skipping the routine cleaning the manual requires (at least monthly near salt air or pools) can void coverage. Read the full terms on Fire Magic's warranty page.
