The Fire Magic 3186-52 insulating liner lets you install an Echelon Diamond E790i, H790i or Aurora A790i built-in grill in an island framed with wood or other combustible materials, as long as the countertop is non-combustible. The 304 stainless liner hangs from the countertop on its own hangers, so the grill drops in without extra support framing underneath.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • You will need: a Fire Magic Echelon Diamond E790i, H790i or Aurora A790i built-in grill, a non-combustible countertop, and island ventilation openings as the grill manual requires

Installation Notes

Use the liner only in an enclosure built of combustible materials with a non-combustible countertop, and follow every enclosure requirement in the grill owner's manual. The island must have openings for drainage, replacement air and cross-ventilation of any space exposed to possible gas leakage.

Cut the opening to 42 x 26 x 12 1/4 in per the Fire Magic specification guide. If the countertop overhangs the island face, cut it flush with the front wall across the liner flanges, and allow for any tile or stone on the front wall when setting the front-to-back cut-out.

In New York City, gas piping to an outdoor kitchen must be installed by a licensed master plumber, and terrace or rooftop islands in multifamily buildings usually need building approval. Building a new island? Book a design consultation.
